Rosenwood Rose Grows, Adds Two New Attorneys

Rosenwood Rose is pleased to announce the addition of Carl Burchette and Meredith Hiller to its practice.

Carl concentrates his law practice on general civil and commercial litigation, with a special interest in construction and complex business operations. Although Carl’s practice primarily focuses on litigation, he has broad experience practicing in the areas of business operations and disputes, land use, environmental, manufacturing, fiduciary duties, construction, and professional design. This includes representing partnerships, business owners, suppliers, manufacturers, general contractors, subcontractors, owners, developers, designers, and owners’ associations in matters including contract preparation and review, negotiations, and licensing board disputes, in addition to litigating in court and arbitration. Carl prepares contracts and handles claims relating to a broad range of projects and business ventures including suppliers, manufacturers, breweries, restaurants, state-funded infrastructure, schools, manufacturing facilities, shopping centers, and subdivisions.

In addition to his regular practice, Carl takes pride in making himself available to assist clients quickly and effectively when and where situations arise that require confidential, legal guidance and/or the coordination of in-house and outside counsel, investigators, and experts. This encompasses a wide variety of matters, including on-site catastrophes, environmental spills and violations, business/employment disputes, media coverage and investigations, and personal matters.

Meredith is a civil litigator who focuses on counseling and litigating business disputes. Meredith has represented individuals and organizations in a range of issues, including employment disputes, real estate matters, and insurance litigation. She has authored briefs in the North Carolina Court of Appeals and in the U.S. Supreme Court.

Prior to joining Rosenwood Rose, Meredith worked at a nationally-regarded insurance litigation boutique in Washington, DC, where she represented corporate policyholders in multi-million dollar claims against insurers. Meredith graduated summa cum laude from Wake Forest University and earned her law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law, where she was a member of the Virginia Journal of Social Policy & the Law.

Rosenwood Rose welcomes Carl and Meredith and knows they will constitute strong assets to the team.
